TraceNet uses necessary local storage to remember temporary limits and your analytics choice. Google Analytics does not load until you accept it.

Necessary storage

tracenet.lastTest: prevents abusive repeated tests for a short period.
ndt7.locate.backoffUntil: respects Measurement Lab temporary limits.
tracenet.analyticsConsent: remembers whether you accepted or rejected Analytics.

These values remain in your browser until you delete them.

Optional analytics

If accepted, Google Analytics may use identifiers or cookies to measure visits. You may reject it and still use the test. To change your choice, select “Optional analytics” in the main page footer and choose again.

Deleting data

You can remove TraceNet cookies and storage from your browser privacy settings. This resets local limits and the analytics preference.
