Controller and contact
TraceNet.io operates this network diagnostic tool. For privacy questions or data-related requests, email privacy@tracenet.io.
Data processed
The tool may process IP address, provider and approximate location; speed, latency and TCP telemetry; browser, operating system, resolution, language, time zone, and device feature availability. Results are displayed in your browser, and TraceNet does not create accounts or a personal test history.
Providers
- Measurement Lab (M-Lab): runs NDT7 after you expressly accept its data policy.
- ipapi, ipinfo, and Cloudflare: may assist with approximate IP and network identification.
- OpenStreetMap/Nominatim and CARTO: provide geocoding and maps.
- Google Analytics: loads only if you accept optional analytics.
Each provider processes information under its own policy and may operate outside your country.
Purpose and basis
Technical data is used to provide the requested test, prevent abuse, and display the diagnosis. M-Lab and Analytics are activated through consent. You may reject Analytics without losing the main functionality.
Local storage and retention
Your browser stores the last test time, temporary limits, and analytics choice in localStorage. TraceNet does not maintain a database of personal results. External providers apply their own retention periods.
Your choices
You can withdraw Analytics permission through “Optional analytics”, clear site storage, and choose not to start NDT7. You may also request access, correction, or deletion through the contact above.
